Camp Little Red - Session IV

Aquatic Camp

July 19-21st

9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Our theme this week is AQUATIC CAMP.  We will explore the water table for sharks, whales, jellyfish, stingrays and octopi!  Campers will learn about the aquatic food chain and the interdependence of life underwater.  We will read about seahorse daddies, hermit crabs, sea turtles, sharks and all sorts of sea creatures!  Campers will have the opportunity to explore and learn first hand about seashells, what they are home to and how they are made.  Mrs. Rieger has many fun art projects planned and the children will make their own hermit crab "houses" and seashell necklaces.  Of course there will be plenty of singing, finger-plays and bubble time!

The Camp will provide snack each day.  Please make sure your child has a packed lunch with him/her each day.  Drinks will be supplied by the camp - no need to pack drinks in your child's lunch.

Please bring your child up to the classroom each morning (we unlock the doors at 9:00 a.m.).  If you arrive later than 9:15, please note that we will be down at the playground.  Please bring your child to the playground if the class is not in the classroom.  We will bring your children out to the Greystone lawn at 1:00 p.m. each day for pick up. You may want to have your child come to camp with sunscreen and bug repellant on each day (the mosquitoes have been really bad!).  Have your child dress in cool and comfortable clothes and shoes - no flip-flops please!

For those of you whose children have really enjoyed Camp, we would love to hear your feedback and post it on the Camp pages of Little Red's website.  If you have a "rave review" about Camp, please email it to us at contact@littleredschoolhouseokc.com and we will post it on one of our Camp pages.  It has been a great summer - thanks so much for your support!

Rave Reviews

I would highly recommend Camp Little Red.  We just finished our third summer there and my children have been exposed to so many wonderful things.  Camp Little Red taught my children through mixed methods such as music, art, stories and creative play - all while they were having fun!  My six-year-old daughter knows about the aquatic food chain, how many days it takes to reach the moon, and why she likes the art of Claude Monet "better" than that of Vincent Van Gogh!  I believe Camp Little Red would be a great experience for any child.
