Camp Little Red - Session II

Camp Picasso

June 28-30th

9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Our theme this week is ART CAMP.  We have many elements included under the umbrella of "Fine Arts" for your little campers this week.  We will study various artists/illustrators including Van Gogh, Picasso and one very familiar artist to children - Eric Carle!  We will explore various mediums of visual art including paint, collage, sculpture, and coloring.  We will also incorporate music and movement into circle time each day.  There will be several areas of the classroom set up for free exploration of building, drawing, coloring, and play-dough sculpting.  Ms. Rieger has many fun art projects planned that will incorporate the mediums and styles of the artists we will study.  We know your child will have a great time this week!

The Camp will provide snack each day.  Please make sure your child has a packed lunch with him/her each day.  Drinks will be supplied by the camp - no need to pack drinks in your child's lunch.

Please bring your child up to the classroom in the mornings.  If you arrive later than 9:15, please note that we will be down at the playground.  Please bring your child to the playground if the class is not in the classroom.  We will bring your children out to the Greystone lawn at 1:00 p.m. each day for pick up. You may want to have your child come to camp with sunscreen and bug repellant on each day (the mosquitoes have been really bad!).  Have your child dress in cool and comfortable clothes and shoes - no flip-flops please!

Rave Reviews

I would highly recommend Camp Little Red.  We just finished our third summer there and my children have been exposed to so many wonderful things.  Camp Little Red taught my children through mixed methods such as music, art, stories and creative play - all while they were having fun!  My six-year-old daughter knows about the aquatic food chain, how many days it takes to reach the moon, and why she likes the art of Claude Monet "better" than that of Vincent Van Gogh!  I believe Camp Little Red would be a great experience for any child.
