Camp Little Red - General Information
Camp Little Red is offered in the summertime to children enrolled at CK's Little Red Schoolhouse. The camp is run by CK's Little Red's co-director, Jenny Richard, along with Kathy Rieger, a certified teacher who teaches at CK's Little Red and Todd Rieger, our junior counselor. Each session of camp adopts a different theme and the children are immersed in a hands-on, experiential learning environment that is engaging, educational and a lot of fun. We take 20 campers each session and sessions run for a week from Tuesday - Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuition for camp is $95/session/camper. Art, music, drama and literature are part of each session of camp. Prior camp themes have included Science Camp, Art Camp, Space Camp, Drama Camp and Zoo Camp.
Summer 2011 Camp Schedule:
Back by popular demand - the 4th Annual Camp Little Red will host four weeks of fun-filled learning! Each week of camp will have a different theme where the children will explore, read, sing, dance, act and have a fantastic time while learning about science, space, artists, animals, music and aquatic life!
Session #1 Discovery Camp (Science Camp): June 21st - June 23rd
Session #2 Camp Picasso (Art Camp): June 28th - June 30th
Session #3 Critter Camp (Creepy Crawly Camp): July 12th - July 14th Session #4 Aquatic Camp (Ocean Camp): July 19th - July 21st
All sessions will operate from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and cost $95/child (deposit for supplies and daily snack included in tuition). Children will need to bring a sack lunch (no drinks necessary) each day. Camp will be limited to children who are currently enrolled at CK's Little Red (2010-2011 school year). If interested in enrolling in one or more of the sessions, please download the Camp Little Red enrollment form (see below) and return it to CK's Little Red by April 4th. Tuition will need to be paid in full for all sessions by May 12th. Please make checks out to Jenny Richard.

I would highly recommend Camp Little Red. We just finished our third summer there and my children have been exposed to so many wonderful things. Camp Little Red taught my children through mixed methods such as music, art, stories and creative play - all while they were having fun! My six-year-old daughter knows about the aquatic food chain, how many days it takes to reach the moon, and why she likes the art of Claude Monet "better" than that of Vincent Van Gogh! I believe Camp Little Red would be a great experience for any child.
