Letter from the Director

temp

Dear Little Red Families and Perspective Parents,

As the director of Little Red Schoolhouse Preschool for 25 years, I feel lucky and blessed to have a job I love.  I teach full time with a staff of incredible teachers who have worked together for many years.  They are hard working, creative people with a love of children and a daily dedication to help each little child have success at school and, for that matter, in life.

As a team we look at the whole child socially, emotionally, and academically.  We help them develop their full potential in all areas.

Our classroom is a positive place with an atmosphere of acceptance, respect and high expectations.  It is very rewarding to look around the classoom at happy, busy children working, smiling and creating.  They are totally involved with a love of learning.  The parents of our children have been most complimentary and supportive of our efforts.

We know that choosing a quality school for your child is of the utmost importance.  We are aware of the trust you place in us in caring for your little ones.  Thank you and please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have.

Sincerely,

Linda Airington, Director

Dear Families;

            It is with great anticipation and joy that we welcome the Little Red Schoolhouse Preschool into the Christ the King family.   We understand that there may be questions and this letter will attempt to address these.  We want to reassure you that we will continue to uphold the high standards and quality education that Little Red has come to be known for.   To that effect, we plan to continue the overall scheduling and structure of the program.   Both Mrs. Linda Airington and Mrs. Jenny Richard will continue to provide leadership under the direction of the CK school principal, Mrs. Karen Carter and Assistant Principal, Mrs. Amy Feighny.  In addition, the current Little Red teachers will remain on staff with the addition of one teacher.  We will continue to use the current location and space.  CK's Little Red will be a morning-only program for the 3, 4, and 5-year-old classrooms which will operate from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.  Additionally, we have added a few weeks to the school year as we will follow the Christ the King School calendar and the preschool day will be increased by half an hour.   Therefore, tuition will be adjusted to cover the 10 month schedule and longer day.

            As CK is a Catholic school, we will include some religious content within each day.  Our religious education curriculum for preschool may be viewed via the Archdiocesan website, www.catharchdioceseokc.org (see Catholic Education-Schools- Curriculum (Early Childhood)) or may be reviewed either at Little Red or at CK School.    We think you will find it to be respectful and appropriate for any Christian child.

            Registration will begin shortly after the first of the year.  The registration fee will be $150 per child and covers all materials.  You can find the enrollment form on the website at www.littleredschoolhouseokc.com.  We will slowly be changing all logos to reference CK's Little Red, so bear with us during this transition time.  Starting in January, you may turn in your enrollment forms to Little Red, although enrollment checks need to be made out to Christ the King.

     We plan to have an informational parent meeting in January and we would welcome any questions.   We will also be hosting a "come and go" Open House for prospective families of both Little Red and CK on Sunday, January 31st from 1:30-3:30 pm and look forward  to meeting you and personally welcoming you to the Christ the King School community.

       We believe this partnership is a natural progression, as our two schools have been so closely tied for the past 25 years, both through location and families.  We hope all of you will continue your children's education with us and join us on this new and exciting journey.

Sincerely,

Karen Carter & Linda Airington

Rave Reviews

"I have been teaching at Little Red Schoolhouse for twenty-three years and I am probably more "in love" with the chidren and my job than ever.  It is so much more than a job, it is a pleasure!  A major part of the 'pleasure' is the staff - our director Linda Airington, and the other six teachers.  We are such colleagues and friends."
